Question:

What is the processing time for Landsat images?

Answer:

Landsat 8 data are available to download within 12 hours of acquisition.

Landsat 7 ETM+ and Landsat 4-5 TM data are available to download after processing, which takes 1 to 3 days.

After the data are successfully processed, an email notification containing the direct download URL is sent. The data are also made available for immediate download from EarthExplorer, GloVis, or the LandsatLook Viewer.

About

Landsat represents the world's longest continuously acquired collection of space-based moderate-resolution land remote sensing data. Four decades of imagery provides a unique resource for those who work in agriculture, geology, forestry, regional planning, education, mapping, and global change research. Landsat images are also invaluable for emergency response and disaster relief.
